On CasinoAlpha.ca, we collect data under the provisions of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We apply the principle of meaningful consent, unless a case is exceptional, and we will highlight it as such.
4.1. Express Consent
We will seek explicit and direct consent for most of the data we collect (non-automatic) for non-essential purposes. We will show you an informational panel or pop-up, where we explain the purpose of the data collection and your consent is typically provided via an opt-in checkbox or action.
This usually applies to newsletter subscription material, marketing communication, optional data collection and any non-essential cookies.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time you’d like. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter, following the button we send in every email we send you. In case you want to change your cookie settings, you can do so from the buttons on our page, or, if they don’t appear, you can contact us directly with a “Withdraw Consent” request.
4.2. Implied Consent
We rely on implied consent in cases covered by the provisions of our Terms and Conditions, an obvious and necessary usage of our site.
The same goes for the updates we make to improve our site’s content, functionality and safety. The concept and practicality of implied consent apply when we reach out to you, the user of CasinoAlpha CA, to provide a reply to a previous message or question you’ve left us.
4.3. Exceptions to Consent
Under PIPEDA, consent is not required in certain circumstances, particularly where the processing is necessary for legal compliance or to prevent illegal activity.

Google Analytics is a web analytics service that tracks and reports website traffic. It is the most widely used analytics platform globally.
We use Google Analytics to perform default website analysis that helps us understand user behaviour and improve their content and navigation. We also use it to analyse traffic sources, and monitor technical performance.
We do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Our configuration works on IP anonymisation, always being on. We have disabled advertising features and user-ID tracking. At casinoalpha.ca, we limit our data retention period to a maximum of 14 months, after which the data is automatically deleted from Google’s servers, and our cookies have a maximum lifespan of 24 months.
As Google is a US-based company, the anonymised data collected is processed on their servers in the United States. When transferring data outside of Canada, we use safeguards which are always active on our site.
We rely on mechanisms such as Google LLC’s certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the implementation of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. We also maintain a formal Data Processing Agreement with Google, which confirms their commitment to processing the data to high security and privacy standards.

5.4. Managing and Controlling Cookies
You can block all cookies, at your request, but that might pose issues with how casinoalpha.ca will function. Depending on your browser, you have the following options:
- Chrome – https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Firefox – https://support.mozilla.org/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop

- Edge – https://support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406
You can opt out of Google Analytics using the link above or the Matomo options. Matomo respects your DNT request, while the Google option does that by default. Marketing cookies follow your consent choices regardless of DNT.
For further opting out routes, we recommend you follow the following links:
5.5. Withdrawing Consent
Click Cookie Settings (footer) to switch to “Necessary Only” or customise, then Save Preferences. Effects are immediate and do not affect earlier lawful processing. Some features may be limited.
5.6. Consequences of Disabling Cookies
| Category | Impact |
|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Banner may reappear, and some security features may fail |
| Analytics | No functionality loss, but our ability to improve UX is reduced |
| Marketing | You get fewer relevant ads, and the usual affiliate attribution may be affected |
| Preference | Language/region/currency must be re-selected on each visit |
| Notifications | Web push is disabled, and you may miss updates |
5.7. Third-Party Cookies
When you browse casinoalpha.ca, you will encounter links from sites that are not us or our service. These sites might place their own cookies on your device.
This happens frequently for social media or video content websites, as those services rely on tracking cookies to adapt their algorithm to your needs. Services like this include Facebook, X, and YouTube.
When you click on affiliate links to visit casino operators, those third-party sites may place their own tracking cookies to attribute your visit and any subsequent activity. These cookies are governed by the respective third party’s privacy policy, not ours.
5.8. Cookie Lifespan and Deletion
There are two types of cookies that can be stored on your device based on how long they last. Session cookies are only there for a short time and are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on our site for a set amount of time, but never more than 24 months.
5.9. The Technical Implementation of Cookie Trackers
CasinoAlpha CA is a site that runs on WordPress, a platform that has its own innate cookies. You can recognise them by their ID, starting with “Secure-wp-show-“. They have the role of securing your session from data leaks. The platform also uses cookies like g_state to manage application state across page loads.
Where HTTPS is available, cookies use the Secure flag, creating transmission only over encrypted connections. SameSite trackers are used mainly to disavow cross-site request forgery attempts by blocking specific malware that targets such online vulnerabilities.
For sensitive security information, we use the HttpOnly flag, which prevents client-side scripts from accessing cookies and reduces scripting (XSS) risks.
We regularly review all cookies so they remain compliant with Canadian privacy regulations.
5.10. Cookie Audit and Monitoring
We audit cookies because we want to keep this policy accurate. The last audit was completed on the 14th of October 2025, and the next one is scheduled for November 2026.
6. Data Shared With Third Parties
Sometimes, we share data with third parties and other services. We only do this when mandatory, and we do it rarely.
6.1. Analytics Services
Matomo Analytics (Self-Hosted)
We use Matomo Analytics, self-hosted on our EU servers in Germany. We act as the sole Data Controller, and Matomo functions as our tool, so your analytics data never leaves our infrastructure or gets shared with any other party.
Matomo collects technical data like IP addresses, pages visited, time spent, referral sources, device type and browser, geographic location (at a country level), and clicks. We do not collect personally identifiable information or share data with advertisers.
Because it’s EU-hosted, there are no international data transfers. We don’t share data with third parties, we respect Do Not Track (DNT) signals, and the platform is PIPEDA-compliant by design.
For more data, please check: https://matomo.org/privacy/.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 from Google LLC to understand how people use our website. Google processes this data on our behalf under a formal data processing agreement.
Google Analytics collects your IP address, which pages you visit and how you navigate our site, how long you stay on our site and whether you leave quickly, where your traffic comes from, what device you’re using, your general location, and actions you take on our site.
We’ve turned off all advertising features and don’t track you across different devices. We don’t use advertising measurements, and your data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Cookies expire after 24 months maximum.

6.2. Comparison: Matomo vs. Google Analytics
| Feature | Matomo | Google Analytics |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Self-hosted EU | Google USA |
| Data Ownership | 100% ours | Shared with Google |
| Privacy Focus | Very high | Moderate (configured) |

| IP Anonymization | 2 bytes | 1 byte |
| DNT Respect | Yes | No |

We employ Matomo for privacy analytics, and we use the Google services for benchmarking advanced features. It is your choice if you consent to both, just one, or neither of the two.
6.3. Casino Operators or Our Affiliate Relationships
CasinoAlpha earns commissions when you register and play at casinos through our links. When you click an affiliate link on our site, the casino operator places a tracking cookie on your device that typically lasts between 30 to 90 days. This cookie attributes your activity to our referral.
If you then create an account and make a deposit at that casino during the cookie’s lifetime, the operator notifies us that a player referred from CasinoAlpha has registered and deposited.
Based on this referral, the casino pays us a commission, which typically ranges from C$25 to C$200 as a one-time Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) payment, or alternatively, 20% to 40% of the net revenue you generate as an ongoing revenue share agreement.
This is the data shared with our casino partners: referral source, click timestamp, our affiliate ID, and click ID session. In exchange, the operators give us aggregate conversion information and the due commission. We never receive your name, email, address, deposit amounts, balances, payment details, or gameplay data.
Once you visit a casino, you are subject to its Terms and Privacy Policy. Review those before registering.
For more data, see our Editorial Policy for legitimate interests for affiliate tracking consent and if required by the operator.
6.4. Email Service Provider
We use Aweber for our email collection and newsletter batch sending. In this usage, we collect your email address, name, preferences when it comes to your subscription and how you engage with the emails we send.
For more data, please read our Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe at any time, using the gateway button from any email we send.
6.5. Hosting and Infrastructure
We use the Google Provider through their EU/EEA Cloud for website services of CDN, DDoS, SSL/TLS, database cleanup and management. We only transfer data as necessary.
6.6. When We Must Disclose Data
We might have to share your personal information if the law says we have to. This means following court orders, subpoenas, and other legal procedures, meeting regulatory requirements, answering legal requests from the government, and meeting tax or financial reporting requirements.
We might also share information to protect people’s rights and keep them safe. This means making sure that our Terms and Conditions are followed, stopping fraud and security threats, protecting our rights, property, and safety, and keeping our users and the public safe.
Your data may be given to the new owner if a business moves, such as through a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or asset sale. We will notify you via email and a Website notice before any transfer occurs.
We will also disclose data with your explicit consent for any purposes not covered above. In all cases, we follow data minimisation principles and disclose only the minimum information necessary to fulfil the specific purpose.
6.7. We DO NOT Sell Your Personal Data
CasinoAlpha does not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Affiliate commissions are not a “sale” under PIPEDA/GDPR because we do not transfer PII to operators.
6.8. Third-Party Links
Casinoalpha.ca contains links to casinos and other third-party sites. This means that as soon as you click, their terms and privacy policies apply. CasinoAlpha CA and its related entities have no control over the practices of third-party services we link to. They are solely responsible for their content, site security and how they handle data.
6.9. List of Third-Party Data Recipients
| Recipient | Purpose | Location | Data Shared | Legal Basis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matomo | Analytics (self-hosted) | EU | IP/usage | Legitimate interests |
| Google Analytics | Analytics | USA | IP/usage | Consent (EEA); Legitimate interests (non-EEA) |

7. International Data Transfers
7.1. Where Is Your Data Processed?
We process the data we collect from you within the EU/EEA area, since our site infrastructure is EU-based. Our website services are currently hosted in Germany and the UK. Matomo is also hosted on EU servers, using EU data centres. As a consequence of this, all your data is handled according to the principles and directives under the GDPR law, even if your CasinoAlpha session happens from within Canadian borders.
7.2. Transfers Outside EU/EEA
Part of the data we handle is transferred internationally, primarily to the United States through Google Analytics. Google LLC, USA, processes analytics data on US servers to provide its service. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which you can check at https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/.
Google maintains supplementary security measures, including TLS 1.3 encryption during data transmission, encryption of data at rest, strict access controls limiting who can view your information, regular third-party security audits, transparency reports about government data requests, and legal mechanisms to challenge unlawful data access attempts.
You can install Google’s opt-out browser add-on from https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to block GA tracking entirely, withdraw your consent through our Cookie Settings to immediately stop data transfers, or choose to use only Matomo analytics, which is EU-hosted and involves no international transfers whatsoever.
The casino operators are licensed in various jurisdictions, including Malta, Curaçao, Gibraltar, and the UK. When you click through to these operators, you enter a direct relationship with them, and their privacy policies govern how your data is handled. This is also true for cases when you interact with social media sharing buttons.
Platforms like Facebook, X, and LinkedIn may transfer data between the EU and the USA under their own Standard Contractual Clauses or Data Privacy Framework certifications.
7.3. Adequacy Decisions
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), we can transfer personal information to countries that provide comparable levels of protection. The European Union and Canada are mutually recognised as offering similar and adequate commercial protections, so this criss-cross of jurisdiction does not negatively affect you or the data we get from your visits to our website.
If you are unsure of any aspects, we recommend you visit and consult the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s website https://www.priv.gc.ca/ for more details.
7.4. Your Rights Regarding International Transfers

- You have the right to object by withdrawing consent
- You have the right to request details about SCCs/DPF certification

8.3. Secure Deletion
Your personal data is securely deleted or anonymised. The backups of this said data are removed in 90 days or less. The same pattern and instruction follow for the third-party services associated or involved.
8.4. Exceptions
We only apply an exception to the previous points when the law requires us to. Usually, these are marginal cases of legal claims or specific legal requests. Any piece of data collected cannot immediately or obviously identify you or your address. It is mostly used for statistics.
9. Your Rights Under The Canadian Privacy Law
As a Canadian resident, you have defined rights under PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
9.1. Right to Access
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold along with an explanation of how it’s being used. Submit your request through the form on our Contact page with your full name, email, and purpose. 10. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data.
10.1. Technical Measures
All data transmission uses SSL/TLS encryption with the TLS 1.3 protocol. We use a hosting provider that has ISO 27001 certification. CasinoAlpha uses firewalls to block access we do not authorise.
We monitor systems in real time with intrusion detection alerts and apply security patches promptly. Any stored passwords are hashed using bcrypt, and we enforce role-based access control to limit data access to authorised personnel only.
Admin accounts require two-factor authentication, and all backups are encrypted and stored securely.
10.2. Organisational Measures
- Policies for protecting data inside the company
- Training employees on a regular basis
- Limited access to limited, encrypted data
- NDAs
- Checking a vendorIncident planning and handling
- Regular security checks
- Officer in charge of data protection
10.3. No Absolute Security
Nothing on the internet is 100% secure. We strongly suggest you use strong, unique passwords and log out of shared devices or networks if you see any suspicious activity.
10.4. Data Breach Notification
If a personal data breach occurs, our obligations are to notify the supervisory authority within 72 hours if there is a risk to rights and freedoms. We are also obliged to notify affected individuals without undue delay where the risk is high.
We will share the nature of the breach, likely consequences, measures taken, contact point for more info, and advice on protective steps.
10.5. Phishing and Security Warnings
We will never request passwords or payment details by email, nor send urgent “account problem” links. Legitimate messages come from @casinoalpha.ca. If you receive a suspicious message, do NOT click links or download files. You should also verify by typing casinoalpha.ca directly.
Fake bonus emails, “update payment details urgently,” and fake casino messages are all common scams. What we recommend you do is to always check through official channels.
11. Children’s Privacy
